Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer is required by our Manchester client based in offices commutable from Manchester, Stockport, Bolton, Wigan, Cheshire and surrounds. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing R&D team, taking responsibility for the mechanical design of audio products taking initial concepts into volume manufacturing.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

 

  • Responsible for the complete mechanical design package including 3d, detail 2d drawings,  BOMs and library updates.
  • Co-ordinate with other global departments to complete the design and problem solve eg system engineers, PCB engineers and manufacturing.
  • Continuous improvement of products and processes.
  • Comply with quality standards and company policy.
  •  

To be considered for the Mechanical Design Engineer roles applicants should :

 

  • Hold a BEng or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Have experience working in a mechanical design dept.
  • Have experience of using 3d tools for mechanical design.
  • Be familiar with plastic material and design for ordinary injection molding.
  • Have a proven track record in working effectively to project timescales
  • Be able to balance requirements for value engineering, assembly, test, service, time to market
  • Have Good communications skills – ability to work with external global development groups (China, Philippines, Germany etc).

 

It would also be advantageous if applicants are familiar with audio related products and have electronic/electromagnetic knowledge and skills together with design for EMC compliance.
